GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

Cindy Heath called the meeting to order at 7:10PM.

Secretary’s Report:  Motion to approve the minutes was made by Mary Ellen Pifko, seconded by Tom Blakley.  Motion carried.

Treasurer Report:  July financial statements were presented. The report does not reflect the money collected at the uniform fitting day and the night of the band camp meeting. Those totals will be in next month’s report. Motion to approve was made by Tom Blakley, seconded by Dave Drenner.  Motion carried.

All Marching Griffins that have not paid for band camp yet, the money is due immediately.  The $450.00 can be placed in the blue mailbox.

Communications:  Information for the August newsletter is being collected now.  Please let Teri Schuh know if anything needs to be added to it. 

Shop & Share is being organized by Barb Malm.  It will be September 10th -12th  at the Jewel Food Store.  The certificates will be added to the newsletter via email and need to be turned in at the time of purchase.  5% of your total purchase goes to the Boosters.

Gail Gray is looking for someone to shadow her for the wreath sale in the fall.

Ways & Means:  Siam is September 16th and 23rd, this is the largest fundraiser for the Music program,  hopefully raising $100,000.00 this year for all three schools. The card will be going to print in a few weeks.  Drivers are needed for both days.  Contact Tom McKay.

The car raffle will start at the first football game, August 24th.  Tickets will be mailed out to the students.  If all tickets aren’t sold, the first prize will be a 50-50 split.

The cookie dough and butterbraid fundraiser forms will be sent out soon with delivery in November.  This is an IBA fundraiser.

Current Business:  Mike Albert reported that all went well at Band Camp.

Booster Registration will continue during student registration next week. Parents of all music students are encouraged to join.

Spiritwear will be available to order at student registration, also.  August 9th is the last day for show shirt orders.  See Mary Ellen Pifko or Paula Socarras for details.

Tom Schoenhofen is in charge of the Fall Fest this year.  He reported that East has it’s own booth this year in the food court, along with a dunk tank that will have different volunteers to be dunked.  Car raffle tickets will also be sold. Carpenters, and electricians are needed on August 18th to help rebuild the brat booth to fit in the space at the food court.  He needs chaperones to help with the dunk tank.  Please call or email him for info.

Mrs. Caryn DeHart is the new website photographer. Please email her with any questions or comments.

Paula Socarras will be making the rally signs for the shows this year.  Volunteers are needed to help assemble them on August 28th at 7:00PM.

Chaperones:  Tom Blakley reported that the Momence parade was covered.  Anyone interested in chaperoning for the different events should email him.

Steve Garbaciak is in charge of the Field Show on October 13th at East.  Sign up sheets will be available for volunteers and chairmen of the different areas.

Uniforms need to be cleaned and altered before the first football game, August 24th.

Mr. Johnson reported that Madrigal Camp is this week. There will be a concert given by them on Friday at 5:00PM.

The Community Concert will be Tuesday, August 14th at 7:00PM.

Jazz Band is performing on Breidert Green in Frankfort on Sunday, August 19th from 12:00-2:00PM.  They are also performing on Monday, September 3rd from 3:00-5:00PM at the Fall Fest.
