GENERAL MEETING MINUTES Cindy Heath called the meeting to order at 6:10PM. Secretary’s Report: Motion to approve the minutes was made by Tom Blakely, seconded by Jean Stanker. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report: IBA balances are now current. Payments for band camp can be made tonight. The June budget was reviewed. Motion to approve it was given by Jean Stanker, approved by Dave Drenner. Motion carried. Communications: The June newsletter was sent out per email this month. Please let Terri Schuh know of a change in email address. If you don’t have one, please notify her. Ways & Means: The car wash brought in $13,000.00 for the students’ IBA accounts. SIAM: volunteers are getting business sign ups now. Volunteers for the driving of students are needed for the 2 Sundays, September 16th and 23rd. Current Business: Uniforms: Barb Albert and Ann Lindley reported that all uniforms have been distributed. Any alterations need to be done before the first show. August Registration: Cindy will be at registration signing up members for the Boosters. Volunteers are needed to help at the table. Fall Fest: LWE will have 2 booths this year, one is the dunk tank, the other will be the brat booth. We are doing it without Central this year. We will be selling car raffle tickets this year also. Nascar: Sue Ann DelVicario reported that the weekend went well. Volunteers worked for the corporate sponsor USG. $4,500.00 was raised for the IBA accounts. A check for $250.00 was presented to the General Fund from USG for a job well done. Spiritwear: Order forms for the show shirts will be given out at the band camp meeting. The design is in it’s final stages. Orders will be taken on Saturday, July 28th, luggage loading day for camp. All orders must be in by August 7th, to have the shirts for the Indiana Field Show on September 8th. They may be placed in the blue mailbox. Volunteers are needed to make the rally signs for the shows, and to work the spiritwear table at school registration in August. For questions, call Mary Ellen Pifko or Paula Socarras. Volunteers: Chaperones are needed for the Momence Parade August 11th. Staff Comments: Mr. Calhoon reported that the Jazz Bands have performed at various events in the area this past month and all have done well. Jazz 1 and Summer Jazz will be performing on Aug. 19th. Jazz 1 and the Combo will be at Fall Fest and the Farmer’s Market. The Orchestra will also be at the Farmer’s Market this year. Mr. Johnson reported that the Marching Band is all in place and going well. The new staff is working hard and doing a great job. There will be a curriculum review for the Music Dept. this year. Renovations in the band room are underway, making it easier for the bands and guard to rehearse in it. Madrigal Camp will be the week after band camp. Mrs. Lambert and the Madrigal Singers were invited to perform at the IMEA conference this year. Congratulations to all. Mike Blakley (Sr. Drum Major) was awarded the Drum Major position for the Army All-American Marching Band. The Community Concert will be at 7:00PM on August 14th. The next general Booster meeting is also scheduled for that evening. It will probably be rescheduled to another date. Please check your email for any change of the date.
