Meeting was called to order at 7:35PM by SueAnn DelVicario. Secretary Report: Motion to approve the minutes was made by Tom Blakley. Seconded by Joyce Eriks. Motion carried. Treasurer Report: Mike Albert reviewed the February financials. The profit from the Cupid Raffle is not posted yet. The total of overdue travel expenses is at $11,000. $7,000 was collected last month. A motion to approve the February report was made by Joyce Eriks. Seconded by Tom Blakley. Motion carried. Ways and Means: Tom McKay reported that 295 tickets were purchased for the Spaghetti Dinner. The total income will be $4,184.00 after the kitchen costs. The Guard Show is April 5th and 6th. At least 50 adult and 30 student volunteers are needed. East will be handling concessions. Central will host approx. 600 members for practices and overnight lodging. They will do their own concession there. Tom Blakley reported that the Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is March 8th. Volunteers are needed for both Friday to set up, and Saturday. Karin Lezon reported that the orders for the Flower Sale are due by Friday, March 7th in the blue mailbox. Pick up is May 9th in area behind the tennis courts. Shop’n’share and the Jewel is March 10-11-12 this month. SueAnn DelVicario informed the membership that the new officer nominations are due this month. SueAnn asked for a motion to delay the nominations for new board members for both East and North until next month. Motion to delay nominations was made by Tom Blakley. Seconded by Barb Malm. Motion carried. Anyone interested in serving on the boards for next year, please contact Cindy Heath, Jean Stanker, or SueAnn DelVicario. Robyn Madden reported that the Instrumental Awards Banquet will be on May 18, 2008 at DeNolfo’s in Mokena. It will begin at 4:00PM. Tickets are $26.00. Senior band students are free. Barb Malm will be in charge of the uniforms for East next year. Anyone interested in helping, please contact her. A person with computer skills is needed. SueAnn DelVicario reported that the Levy Corp. has asked for help at the NASCAR races again this year. This is a fundraiser for both the General Fund and the IBA, for both East and North. There will be 2 alcohol training sessions on March 26th and 27th at the Joliet Speedway. Sessions start at 4:00PM and 6:30PM. Be prompt, doors are locked, and no one is allowed in after the start time. Other training sessions are to be scheduled also. Sign up sheets are available. Anyone over the age of 18 can train; it needs to be done every year. Levy Corp will pay $125 per person per day with $25 going to the General Fund and the remaining $100 to the individual student’s IBA. If a minimum of 75 people work each day, Levy will pay us $150 per day, with $25 going to the General Fund and $125 to the IBA. There are 3 races scheduled this year. June 6-8 NHRA, July 11-12 NASCAR, and Sept. 6-7 IRL. With a total of 7 days to work, 1 person can raise $700.00 or more towards their student’s IBA. Mr. Johnson reported that the East Music students did very well at the IHSA competition, with 75 scoring a Division I and 14 scoring a Division II. The Winter Guard I took second place in Dayton, Ohio. They will go to the World Championships in April. Both Guards will be at Lake Park this weekend. Music auditions for both schools will be April 1st. Mr. Calhoon reported that the Concert this Thursday will be at 7:00PM, and the Orchestra and Choir concert is March 11th at 7:00PM. The Jazz Band will be performing at the Bob Kames Jazz Fest at the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 4-6. The Albuquerque Youth Symphony will be performing at East on March 26th. Dinner will be provided by the Music Boosters. Jean Stanker reported that set building help is needed for the Spring Musical.
