Mr. Calhoon introduces tonight's guest artist Valerie Nicholson.

Valerie Nicholson is professor of music at Prairie State College. She is currently a doctoral candidate in music theory at the University of Chicago. As a jazz pianist, she performs with a variety of individuals and groups including the Burgess Gardner Big Band and Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra.

How lucky the LWE musicians are to be able to perform with Ms. Nicholson.

Nicholson was named by Star Newspaper as one of the "21 Leaders in the Arts for the 21st Century" in 2001.
