Griffins Continue To March Through A Great Season On Saturday, Septmeber 29, the Marching Griffins performed at the Bands of America Regional Championship in Ypsilanti, Michigan, competed in the one-day championship event held on the campus of Eastern Michigan University. After finishing second in Class AAA during the Preliminary Competition, the Griffins performed in Finals and earning 2nd Place overall, finishing behind former national champion Plymouth-Canton Educational Park High School from Plymouth, Michigan. Mr. Smith said, "I couldn't be more proud of these students and their incredible appearance today. Though it's good for them to receive competitive recognition for their accomplishments, it's more important to acknowledge that their hard work during rehearsals is paying off with some terrific public performances." Mr. Johnson, said, "These Griffins stepped up today and hit a real home-run. This is a great way to propel them into the final two weeks of their competitive season." Bands of America (BOA) is the nation’s leading presenter of educational events and spectacular shows for high school bands. The BOA Regional Championship at Ypsilanti is one of 17 Bands of America Championships to be held across the nation this fall featuring a previous Grand National Champion and Grand National Class Champion and several previous Regional Finalists and Champions. |
