For
the past 9 years the Marching Griffins present a free ice cream
concert for the community. The tradition was originally started
by Principal Dr. Gardner and Mr. Clifton Smith. It is a gesture
to show appreciation to the neighbors who put up with the noise
of Dr. Beat, the Drumline, and repeated phrases of music heard
over and over again during the marching practice season. Everyone
is invited and all are treated to ice cream.

"I've
always wanted to have a neighbor just like you.
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.
So, let's make the most of this beautiful day.
Since we're together we might as well say:
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?" -Fred Rogers
