Incoming Marching Griffins First Day of Practice
A
Time of Getting to Know Each Other. The new Marching Griffins are
led and aided by leaders from each of the sections.

One of the Drum Majors and new technician, Mr. Truffa, discuss the events of the day.

Mr. Johnson, Mr. Smith and Mr. Truffa are poised and ready for the group of new Marching Griffins.

New Marching Griffins settle and are ready to listen.

Everyone listens intently - excited, confused, maybe a little scared.

On the first day of freshman practice, the parents come to an orientation meeting. Music Booster President, Cindy Heath and Chairman, Ways and Means, Tom McKay explain the fund raising programs and opportunities for their students IBA (Individual Band Account).

The volume of information given to Freshman parents seems overwhelming and confusing, but soon they'll get in step. (Just like their children)

Mr. Albert explains Band Camp to the parents.

Parents follow along with the Band Camp handout.

By the end of the meeting, many questions are answered and any concerns parents had will have been calmed.

This is the look of apprehension....

...and excitement of being a new Marching Griffin.

The Pit is already hard at work on Day 2 of practice. Guiding the freshman, each veteran Griffin is paired with a new member.
