Robert Calhoon is the Director of Orchestras and Jazz Ensembles at Lincoln-Way East High School. As well, he teaches Music Technology and Piano.

Mr. Calhoon earned a B.A. in Music from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN and a B.M. in Music Education from the University of Minnesota. He lived in Minneapolis for a number of years, working as a free-lance bassist in theatre and jazz venues


In 1996, Mr. Calhoon moved to New Mexico where he was appointed to be a string instructor in the Albuquerque Public Schools as well as the Conductor of the Santa Fe Youth Symphony. He returned to his native Chicagoland in 1999 when he was appointed to be the Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Rob recently served on the music faculty of Prairie State College as the Director of the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and for 3 years he was the Associate Conductor of the New Tradition Chorus, the 2001 Chorus Champion of the International Barbershop Society.
