Since Lincoln-Way High School, District 210 split into two schools, Lincoln-Way Central High School and Lincoln-Way East High School, it has been a tradition for the marching bands from each school to unite and welcome the teachers back to the new school year. This year's first Teacher Institute Day was held on August 23 one day before school officially opened for the 2004-2005 school year.
It is the last day of summer break and it is 6 a.m.
