| Second Annual Field Show T-Shirt Design Contest Open to Marching Griffins, LWE Music Boosters, and fans We are all anxious about the upcoming Marching Season and we would like to highlight the 2004 fieldshow with our fans wearing t-shirts and or sweatshirts highlighting our show's theme and our schedule. So get your creative juices together and design an entry into the contest. The rules have changed so read carefully. Here are the specifics: - The design dimensions are no larger than 10" x 10"
- This year, illustrations are to be designed for a Griffin Blue background. In other words the shirts will be Griffin Blue this year.
- Please limit your colors to no more than 4. (For example black, white, red, and yellow on a blue shirt; or blue, white, green, and red on a blue shirt.)
- The title of this year's show is "Stained Glass" The music is entitled Church Windows, by Ottorino Resphigi. The show has three movements using symbols coming together to make a stained glass.
- The schedule will go on the back side of the shirt with a logo relating to the front side. This should be included in the design concept. (In other words you should submit a design for the front and for the back side of the shirt.) Here is this year's schedule:
July 4 - Mokena Fourth of July Parade August 12-Illinois State Fair Twilight Parade August 14-Momence Gladiolus Festival Parade August 19-Neighborhood Ice Cream Performance August 23-Teachers Institute Performance September 5-Frankfort Fall Fest Parade September 18-Lake Park Lancer Joust October 2-Phantom Regiment Marching Band Festival October 9-Metamora H.S. The designs can be drawn, painted, or computer generated. Designs must be original. Entries should be identified on the back side with your name, phone number, and your affiliation with the band, i.e., band booster, band member, etc. To keep the judging non-biased, do not sign the design or have any identification on the front of the artwork. Entries can be turned in to Mr. Smith, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Teare, Ms. Tinman, or dropped into the blue mailbox.
- A panel of (non-partial) judges will determine this year's shirt design.
- The winning entry will be announced at the end of this year's band camp meeting on August 3, 2004.
- Pre-paid orders can be placed for t-shirts and sweatshirts at that time. Shirts will be ready for the first field show performance.
- The winning entry will receive one free sweatshirt and be able to say, "I designed that shirt!!!" If you have any questions you can email Barb Albert at luv2talk247@comcast.net
