Since Lincoln-Way High School, District 210 split into two schools Lincoln-Way Central High School and Lincoln-Way East High School back in 2001, it has been a tradition for the marching bands from each school to unite and welcome the teachers back to the new school year. This year's first Teacher Institute Day was held on August 22, one day before school officially opened for the 2005-2006 school year.
It is the last day of summer break and it is 6 a.m.
