| Third Annual Field Show T-Shirt Design Contest Open to Marching Griffins, LWE Music Boosters, and fans We are all anxious about the upcoming Marching Season and we would like to highlight the 2005 field show with our fans wearing t-shirts and or sweatshirts highlighting our show's theme and our schedule. So get your creative juices together and design an entry into the contest. The rules have changed so read carefully. Here are the specifics: - The design dimensions are no larger than 10" x 10"
- Please limit your colors to no more than 5. (For example black, white, red, violet, and yellow on a blue shirt; or blue, white, green, yellow, and red on a blue shirt.)
- The title of this year's show is "Five"
Concepts: This is Lincoln-Way East's fifth year as its own school. So in celebrating our anniversary the music of this year's show includes: five famous fifth symphonies. Composers: Beethoven, Mahler, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich. Incorporated in the show is the visual use of everything associated with the number five. Fingers; toes; appendages (head, 2 arms, 2 legs); stars; pentagons; human senses; musical groups; color guard groups; percussion groups; the Greek letter Phi; five elements of wood, metal, fire, water, air; there are five organs of sense, five organs of action, five energies; the tenets of Taekwon-Do: courtesy, integrity, perseverance; self control, and indomitable spirit; the musical Circle of Fifths; the pentatonic scale. In summary, FIVE is the quintessential number – it appears in all types of signs, forms and symbols around the world. It permeates nature, math, art, literature and music. One ancient philosopher wrote, "All things happen in fives or are divisible by or are multiples of fives. "I find the law of fives to be more and more manifest the harder I look." - T. Clifton Smith - The schedule will go on the back side of the shirt with a logo relating to the front side. This should be included in the design concept. (In other words you should submit a design for the front and for the back side of the shirt.) Here is this year's schedule:
