Treasurer's Reports
Mike Kaczmarski outlined the balances in the funds and the cash flow for the month. The joint account was split in January, with $57,000 going into East’s General Account. He outlined the income for the month. On the comparison between year-to-date expenses versus budget, fundraising income is above budget. A loss of approximately $62,000 for Marching Griffins was forecasted, but currently is approximately $55,000. There are still outstanding trip payments due and everyone was encouraged to send in past due payments. Dave Drenner made a motion to approve; Mike Albert seconded. Motion carried.

Bill Geary was at the meeting and he had current balances available for anyone interested.

Staff Comments
Mr. Smith reported that Solo and Ensemble contest will be held next week on Saturday. Check with your children to see if they have signed up and paid their fees.

The Marching Band summer schedule is out, and the information will be on the website soon. The Color Guard schedule is different than Marching Band. If there is a conflict with summer school, academics will take priority. There may be sectionals scheduled during the 3-week break following July 4th, but they will remain optional.

The fall schedule is being worked on. As there will be football teams for both North and East, most marching band practices will be in the evenings on Mondays and Thursdays. The schedule will be distributed as soon as it is finalized, but this may not be until August.

Mr. Johnson commented on the two Winterguard programs. Winterguard I went to St. Louis for a regional competition. There were 60 guard units there, and our guard finished 4th overall and 3rd in their class. Additional instructors are being sought to help with guard.

The Jazz Band has traveled out of state several times for competitions. They have received a 2nd place award.

Practice for the spring musical is underway.

Mr. Calhoun will begin attending Booster meetings next month as he will be taking over as the Music Department Chair next year.

Paula Socarras asked if the first year of North will be a travel year. Mr. Johnson explained that no decisions have been reached yet, but it is a possibility. East's travel schedule will remain the same. Additional fund raiser opportunities are being researched.

Mr. Smith explained that the Midway photo from San Diego order forms will be available at the next General Meeting, if not sooner. Photos should be available for pickup at the Banquet in May. No additional information is available about the complimentary DVDs.

Marianne Kammer suggested a Carson's fund raiser selling coupon books for $10 with the group keeping $5. Tom McKay will look into it.

Market Day chairman (or co-chairman) are still needed.

Mary Ellen Pifko made a motion to adjourn at 7:30 pm; Dave Drenner seconded. Motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,
Robyn Madden
Booster Secretary
