GENERAL MEETING - WEDNESDAY
WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 2007 Minutes

Tom Blakley called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m.

Secretary’s Report
Mary Ellen Pifko made a motion to approve the minutes; Denise Ozburn seconded.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Reports
Mike Kaczmarski reviewed the financial reports and the fund balances.  A lot of IBA commissions were earned on the flower sale.  Market Day is still doing well.  Travel payments are still coming in.  Payroll and payroll taxes were paid in April totaling just over $16,000. 

Mike reported that over $46,000 was earned by students for IBA accounts this year. 

Dave Drenner made a motion to approve the report; Debbie Blakley seconded.  Motion carried.

IBA Reports
Bill Geary reported that all transfers have been made into IBA accounts.  Cindy Heath asked that Shop and Share coupons be included in the newsletter and emailed to all parents.

Communications Report
The newsletter has been sent out.  Joyce Eriks may do a few more emails before turning everything over to Terri Shuh.  There will be no further Kohl’s orders until fall.

Ways and Means Report  
Tom McKay reported that we still need a chairperson for Market Day.  Relay For Life is June 8-9 and volunteers are still needed.  The Car Wash is scheduled for June 16th—volunteers are still needed.  SIAM volunteers are also needed.

Current Business

Budget for 2007-2009 
Mike Kaczmarski distributed of the proposed budget for 2007-08.  This report includes the actual figures from the 2006-07 budget as well as the proposed budget amounts.  The budget is presented at this meeting and will be approved in June.  The general fund raiser amount was questioned, and Tom McKay explained all the amounts.  The main increases in the budget are for additional instruction and additional expenses for three winterguards.  The Booster fees will be raised to $15.00 for the upcoming year.

Music Banquet  
Robyn Madden reported that the banquet is on Sunday, May 20th.  Today is the last day to order tickets. 

Band Camp
Mike Albert introduced himself.  He has a sign-up sheet for band camp chaperones.

Flower Sale
Flower pick-up is this Friday; volunteers are still needed. 

Uniforms
Anne Lindley and Barb Albert need help measuring students for uniforms on June 14th.  Please contact them if you can help.

Tuxes & Dresses
Cindy Heath will need help collecting tuxes and dresses after the concert tomorrow.

Mentor Program
There will be a freshman orientation meeting on June 7th.  An email will be sent out asking for experienced Marching Griffin parent assistance on June 7th. 

Props
There is a sign-up sheet for movers, designers, builders or any other assistance with the props for this year’s field show.

Jaycees Report
Bert Johnson was honored this past weekend as one of the Top Ten Young Persons in the State of Illinois.  It was a very nice program, and Bert gave a great speech.   

Chaperones
Debbie and Tom Blakley will be chairing the Chaperones this year.  There are sign-up sheets available for upcoming parades.

Staff Comments
Neither Director was available for comment this evening. 

Tom Blakley thanked all the members of the Booster Board for their help and support for the last year. 

Dave Drenner made a motion to adjourn at 7:30 pm; Mary Ellen Pifko seconded.  Motion carried.
