Car Wash
It’s almost time for the 2019 Car Wash. We strongly recommend all music department students especially LWMB, Color Guard and Madrigal members participate in this year’s car wash. Any Music Department student is welcome and encouraged to sell tickets. This is such a fun day for the kids and a relaxed way for the incoming freshman to meet new friends!
The fundraiser works in two ways: IBA and general. Students can pre-sell car washes to friends/family and in the community. 100% of those funds collected by the students go directly into their IBA accounts. The money in your IBA account can be used for any mandatory expense that is associated with the music department such as participation fees, uniforms, instrument rental, tuxedos, gowns, madrigal and musical costumes, etc.
On the day of the car wash, we are open to the public. Anyone who pre-purchased a car wash brings their ticket and gets their car washed. Anyone else who stops by for a wash is asked for a free will donation. These funds go to the Booster General Fund.
Location: Lincoln-Way East Parking Lot (south west corner)
Date: Saturday, June 22
Time: 8:30am-1:30 pm
If you sell tickets you will be required to work at least one shift on the day of the car wash. There are two shifts available for student and parent volunteers to work: 8:00 AM until 11:00 or 10:30 AM until 1:30 PM.
LWMB students are assigned by section (brass and percussion 1st shift, guard and woodwinds and 2nd shift) and other music students will need to sign up for a shift on Charms. Parent volunteers can sign up for a shift through Charms. Please arrange to eat after your shift ends or before your shift begins. Bring your water bottles and jugs for personal use; we will have water available for refills.
You can solicit door-to-door from through June 21. When soliciting door-to-door, you should wear LW spirit wear or our school colors. Be enthusiastic, polite and respectful. Your donors should fill out the line on the Pledge Sheet and you give each donor a “Thank You Slip”. Additional Pledge Sheets and Thank You Slips are available on the website. Remember that you are representing the LWE Music Department. Our communities are proud of us and the reputation we have earned.
On the day of the carwash, please arrive 15 minutes early and turn in pre-sale money/pledge before your shift begins. We ask that all donations be converted into one check written out to LWE Music Boosters. Please do not turn in cash donations.
