Dates 

Auditions: Friday, August 25th at 3pm 
Rehearsals: Tuesday, August 29th & Tuesday, September 12th from 6-8pm 
Tech: Thursday, September 21st from 3-7pm 
Performances: Friday, September 22nd & Saturday, September 23rd at 7pm 

All other rehearsals will be individually scheduled. Students must be able to attend rehearsals, tech, and performances in order to participate. 

Preparation

There are 3 components to the audition. 

Solo/Small Group
​​​​Prepare 60-90 seconds or 32 measures of a musical theater, jazz, or pop song tied to the theme of homecoming/coming home, which can be interpreted MANY different ways. We STRONGLY encourage duets, trios, and other small groups. You may audition on both a solo and in a small group. You must find a track to audition on; ask Ms. Samawi or Mrs. Kotze for assistance if needed.

The Old Red Hills of Home Ensemble Cut
Prepare measures 50-end on your voice part. If you participated in SpongeBob in the spring, sing the voice part you were assigned. If you did not participate, choose your voice part. You will audition on this song in small groups! 

• Sopranos should learn Part 1 on the top line. At measure 74, sopranos should learn both splits on the top line. 
• Altos should learn Part 2 on the bottom line. At measure 74, altos should learn the top 2 notes on the bottom line. 
• Tenors & Basses should learn Part 3 on the bottom line. At measure 74, tenors & basses should learn the bottom 2 notes on the bottom line.

From Now On Ensemble Cut
Prepare measures 93-149 on your voice part. The format of this song is SAB (soprano, alto, baritone). If you participated in SpongeBob in the spring, sing the voice part you were assigned. If you did not participate, choose your voice part. You will audition on this song in small groups!
