Course Sequence: This course fulfills the Music requirement for the student with special needs.
Other Prerequisites: I.E.P. Special Services staff recommendation.
Student and Staff Organization:
Conventional. Group and individualized instruction and assessment including both supervised and private practice. Emphasis on individualized instruction.
Course Overview:
Individualized Music is designed to provide music experiences for the student with special needs in a classroom situation which allows for a high degree of individualized instruction. Students will receive exposure to a wide variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional experiences. Students will have the opportunity to develop and improve fine motor skills, problem-solving techniques, auditory, and tactile awareness, and communicative and expressive abilities, as well as experiencing a learning situation with a high degree of creative success.
